WACK News Update 03/28/13

A Newark man faces 10 years in jail after pleading guilty to Child Porn Charges. Police say they were alerted by a family member that 49 year old David Mullie had sexually explicit photos on his computer  Police found several hundred images of children being sexually abused. Sentencing for Mullie is in September.

Grand Larceny charges facing a Shortsville man. Ontario County Sheriff’s say 32 year old Troy Younge Dismantled and sold a vehicle that did not belong to him. He will be in Manchester Town court later to answer the charge.

Two men are charged with animal cruelty after allegedly shooting and killing two cats. Seneca County Sheriff’s say Robert Wyamn of Interlaken and Jerimiah Randall of Ovid shot and killed the cats with a rifle in Ovid earlier this month.

A routine traffic stop in Manchester has a Macedon man facing charges. Ontario County Sheriff’s say 26 year old Hank Rock was pulled over for an expired registration and was discovered to be in possession of marijuana  Rock also charged with driving without insurance.

Police have arrested a Port Byron man for allegedly shoplifting from the Geneva Walmart. Ontario County Sheriff’s say 20 year old Thomas Hitchcock of Denman road allegedly concealed a radar detector and left the store without paying. Hitchcock was arraigned in Geneva Town court and will return later.

A 32 year old Victor man facing assault charges after he allegedly pushed a female victim causing a deep laceration. Joshua Jones of Salem Circle in Victor is also to have alleged to be holding the victim down as she was trying to get away and all for help. Jones sent to the Ontario County Jail in lieu of bail.

The Syracuse Orange are back in action tonight as the NCAA Tournament resumes. the orange in the sweet 16 and will play Indiana the #1 seed in the east bracket. Orange fans remember back in 1987 when Syracuse lost the national championship game on a last second shot by Keith Smart of Indiana. Dick, How this for a pet. 39 year old Darrell Boyd of parry is in trouble for possessing a Burmese Python a very dangerous constrictor snake. DEC and State troopers removed the snake from Boyd’s residence and took it to the bureau of wildlife in Buffalo. Boyd will be back in court in May.

The material girl is truly a material girl. The iconic Madonna has just become a Billionaire. She recently made nearly 400 million on her 2012 tour and with her merchandise sales coupled with TV and DVD rights has vaulted her to the 10 digit mark.

Dick, You’ve heard of the expression you snooze you lose. Well, A woman at real estate office in Florida decided not to participate in the office lottery pool. and guess what the rest of the office had won. She thought it was a prank when she showed up at work and her co-workers were all hugging and laughing. Her boss sat her down and told her it was true. The office has decided to cut her in anyways. no word on how much.

WACK News Update 03/25/13

A Canandaigua man arrested over the weekend accused of sending sexually explicit material to a minor. Police say 30 year old Jonathan Perrine allegedly sent sexual texts including lewd photos of himself to the cell phone of a 13 year old girl. Perrine is facing felony charges of disseminating indecent material to a minor.

An admission by the Stanley woman who is alleged to have killed her husband and the transported his body to her mother house in Ontario County has now admitted she cut up his body and burned it in a fire pit. That according to court papers filed by the District attorney’s office. Chase has maintained her husbands death was an accident.

The man killed in the crash on Route 31 Thursday night was identified over the weekend. Wayne County Sheriff’s say 61 year old Paul Anderson was killed when a car driven by 66 year old Linda Lucas crashed head on with Anderson’s car. Lucas was also injured in the accident and went to Strong Hospital.

Hundreds of local letters carriers converged on the Jefferson Road Post Office yesterday to rally to save the elimination of Saturday mail delivery. Last month the Postmaster general announced that Saturday delivery will be no longer starting in August of this year. similar rallies were held across the united States.

A 26 year old Palmyra man facing DWI charges. Ontario County Sheriff’s say Christopher Hoiles of Johnson Road was allegedly speeding on Route 96 when police pulled him over. Upon further investigation they determined he was drunk.He will appear in Victor Town court to answer the charges.

Wayne County Sheriff’s have arrested a Lyons man for Criminal Mischief Deputies say 26 year old Jordan Harding of Pleasant Valley Road was punching holes in a door during a domestic incident. He was remanded to the Wayne County jail in lieu of bail.

The Syracuse Orangemen are in the Sweet Sixteen. Saturday night the orange eliminated California and will now play Indiana who had a tough game against Temple. You will be able to catch all the action right here on your sports leader 1420 WACK.

Meanwhile during the game Saturday night the family of Syracuse player Michael Carter Williams were dealing with a fire at their home in Massachusetts. Everyone escaped without injury and the cause of the blaze still under investigation .

NY Yankees SSW Derek Jeter is continuing to battle soreness in the ankle he had surgery on will likely start the season on the disabled list. that according to Yankees GM Brian Cashman.

The New York Yankees regular season kicks off one week from today when the host The Boston Red Sox. CC Sabathia has already been named the opening day starter. Remember your can catch Yankees baseball here on 1420 WACK.

WACK News Update 02/15/13

A Wayne County teen has died form the flu. 14-year-old Tyler Finn of Newark contracted the flu in January and died Wednesday night at Strong Hospital from complications. His funeral set for Monday.

A stalled car was struck by an Amtrak train last night in Macedon. Minutes before the crash the driver and passengers escaped without injury. The accident caused a couple hour delay for the train heading to Rochester. No one on the train injured  either. Investigation continues.

An employee of the Wayne County Mental Health and Behavioral Network facing charges of falsifying business records in the second degree. Wayne County Sheriff’s say that 42-year-old Pedro Franco of Rochester was allegedly was using pre-copied urine screening test results and filling them in client case files. He will be in the town of Lyons Court to answer those charges.

Wayne County sheriff’s have mad an arrest in connection with an accident that happened last December  32-yea-old Daniel Roland from Arcadia was injured in the crash. he is facing several charges Including DWI and vehicular assault & assault in the third degree.Roland not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Another evacuation at the Wegman’s in Pittsford. It happened shortly before 10:30 last night. This time a heater fan smoking set off the smoke detector and the store needed evacuation. Earlier this week the same store was evacuated when a contractor cut through a line on a refrigeration unit that sent refrigerant into the air.

A Canandaigua teen is facing charges after an incident on the bus returning from the BOCES in Flint. Ontario County Sheriff’s say 17 year-old Jason Bugbee was verbally abusive towards a staff member. He is charged with disorderly conduct and will be in Gorham Court to answer those charges.

Yesterday we told that the Ontario County Board of Supervisors were going to meet and discuss the New York safe Act and an opposing proposal. A repeal proposal was presented at that meeting last night and after lenghty discussion the board postponed action on the proposal until the march 7th meeting.

Cuts continue at One Bills drive. The Buffalo Bills have let go another veteran. CB Terrance McGee who has been with the team since 2003 was released  the only two players with the team as long. Kicker Ryan Lindell and defensive end Chris Kelsay.

 

Rochester Americans

And the Rochester Americans play at the Blue Cross Arena as they host Houston tonight. Former Amerk Dane Jackson captain of the 1996 winning Calder Cup team will be inducted in the Amerks hall of fame and one of my colleague’s Channel 10′s Rich Funke will be the first TV broadcaster enshrined. Jackson and Funke will be the 53 & 54 members to be inducted.
