				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Polls open at 9:00 AM  and stay open til 9:00 PM  for school budget voting throughout the area. Voting for Newark in the High School Gym. This year budget calls for the replacement of 3 large school buses and 2 small school buses  This is the last budget under the direction of Superintendent Henry Hahn who is retiring at the end of next month. The budget calls for an increase of school taxes by about 2% and would use reserve funds of about 644,000 dollars.</p>
<p>A Stanley man who was arrested and charged with transporting a minor with the intent of engaging in sexual activity has plead not guilty. The U.S. Attorney&#8217;s Office say 49 year old David Vickers took a minor on trips to New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Canada and engaged in sexual activity with the minor. Vickers is being held pending a detention hearing. If Vickers is found guilty, he faces a 10 years to life in prison.</p>
<p>Wayne County sheriff&#8217;s have arrested an Ontario man for DWI. Police say 42 year old Charles Gardiner was pulled over for crossing over the line several times. upon further investigation police determined he was drunk. He was issued multiple violations.</p>
<p>Trespassing charges facing 35 year old Andrea Hendershot after police advised her to leave a property on North Road in Canandaigua several times and she refused. Police then arrested her for trespassing.</p>
<p>A barn destroyed by fire in Waterloo. Fire fighters got the call to County house road that the barn was on fire. The barn housed a welding shop and it&#8217;s believed that where the fire started.</p>
<p>The Supreme Court is taking a new case on the intersection of religion and government in a dispute over prayers used to open meetings in the town of Greece, NY. They will review an appeals court ruling that held that Greece violated the Constitution by opening nearly every meeting over an 11-year span with prayers that stressed Christianity. The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said Greece should have made a greater effort to invite people from other faiths to open its monthly board meetings.</p>

Tiger will be in Syracuse playing a Turning Stone casino to raise money for his college roommate foundation. He will play in the Notah Begay 111 foundation tournament on August 28th.</p>

<p>A controlled fire burn by a farmer went awry to dispose of some hay bales got out of hand yesterday afternoon on Smith road in Hopewell. The Hopewell Fire department with assistance from the Shortsville, Seneca castle and crystal beach fire departments responded after the wind shifted and moved towards some nearby occupied buildings on County Road 48 and County Road 46. The fire burned for several hours before being extinguished. No one was hurt.</p>
<p>Karl Karlsen the man accused of killing his son in Seneca County is facing four new charges. Karlsen already charged with murder and insurance fraud for allegedly killing his son and making it look like an accident in 2008. Now Karlsen is charged with making a false sworn statement, perjury, unlawfully concealing a will and offering a false instrument for filing.</p>
<p>An accident last night sent a pregnant woman to the hospital. It happened about 7:00 last night when a car driven by 20 year old Vicky Bennet of Canandaigua left the road while traveling on Schutt and collided with a telephone. Police say Bennet fell asleep behind the wheel.</p>
<p>A car fire yesterday afternoon. several fire companies responded about 4:30 PM  to Barnard Road in Richmond. When they arrived they found a Ford F-150 on fire and flames were spreading to a nearby mobile home. Firefighters were able to save the mobile home. the truck a total loss. The cause of the fire under investigation.</p>
<p>Criminal Possession of marijuana charges facing a Farmington man. Ontario County Sheriff&#8217;s say 17 year old Jeremy Mayzak of Payne Road was found to have more than eight ounces of marijuana at his residence. He was remanded to the Ontario County jail.</p>
<p>The Webster police officer killed in the line of duty last December in the Christmas Eve ambush is being recognized in our nation&#8217;s capitol as part of National Police Week. Lt. Michael Chiapperini will have his name engraved along with other fallen officers on the granite walls of a national memorial to police killed in the line of duty.</p>
<p>If your a soccer fan you may want to tune into ESPNU tonight as Pittsford Native and WNY flash forward Abby Wambach will be featured in a new show called &#8220;Storied&#8221;. The show debuts tonight at 8:00 PM.</p>
<p>And Dick you think our weather is goofy at times. how about this. In Omaha Nebraska they had a record low temperature of 32 degrees and yesterday they had a record high of 100 degrees.</p>
<p>The largest temperature change on record within a 24 hour period occurred in Loma, Montana in 1972 when the temperature changed from -54 to 49 °F.</p>
<p>And feeling lucky? The Powerball jackpot is up 350 million dollars for tonight. just 5 million short of the second highest jackpot ever. The largest jackpot ever was won last November.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Geneva police are searching for a 36 year old man in connection with two burglaries. The first at One Franklin Square in March and the other at the Captain&#8217;s Room on Exchange Street in Geneva this month. Police say they are searching for Jeffery Smith whose last known address was in Geneva but may have relocated. If you have any information you are encouraged to call Geneva Police.</p>
<p>3 1/2 years behind bars for a pizza shop bandit at sentencing yesterday. 55 year old Barbara Cole plead guilty in February in Monroe County and faces similar charges in Wayne County for robbing a pizza shop in Walworth last November. Cole will also have 5 years of supervision upon release.</p>
<p>A Naples couple arrested after an investigation into some missing jewelry from home in Middlesex. 22 year old Matthew Stewart and 21 year old Kathryn Burns allegedly took the jewelry from a home they were staying at in April. Both remanded to the Yates County Jail in lieu of bail.</p>
<p>A 22 year old Holley woman arrested in Geneva on Grand larceny charges. Ontario County sheriff&#8217;s say after a lengthy investigation they have charged Kay Delker for allegedly stealing over three thousand dollars worth of merchandise from the Geneva Walmart in January.</p>
<p>Petit larceny charges facing a 70 year old Victor woman. Ontario County Sheriff&#8217;s say Patricia Schrader was observed by loss prevention concealing over 1,100 dollars worth of merchandise in her jacket and leaving the store without paying. Schrader issued an appearance ticket.</p>
<p>DWI Arrest of a Geneva Woman. Ontario County Sheriff&#8217;s say 28 year old Jennifer Brosius of Geneva Street was charged after a one car accident northbound on Route 21 in Canandaigua where her car got stuck in a swampy area. Police then discovered that her ability was impaired by both drugs and alcohol. Brosius will be back in Canandaigua court at a later date.</p>
<p>Thanks to a grant from the New York State Homes and community renewal united fund, 2.4 million dollars is heading to Canandaigua to fund a 20,000 square foot, 20 unit housing complex for the Finger Lakes United Cerebral Palsy/ Happiness House. The new project will be built on County Road 30.</p>
<p>Over three thousand dollars and counting for the victims of the Palmyra fire that happened a week ago Friday. WACK News spoke with Steve Marsille who with the American Legion is spearheading the collection efforts. He had talked about a benefit concert at Lock 29 &amp; that concert raised over 1,500 dollars and that amount matched by the tavern owner  There is a car wash scheduled next Sunday and Steve along with the American Legion still taking donations for the fire victims. call the american legion if you can donate or help out.</p>

<p>Changes at One Bills Drive. Buddy Nix is out as GM of the Buffalo Bills. Nix Stepping down and will move aside and become a special assistant to the team. Bills president and CEO Russ Brandon is quoted as saying &#8220;We have a plan&#8221;. It is likely that Assistant GM  Doug Whaley will become Buffalo&#8217;s next GM. <p>Doctor Joyce Brothers has died at 85. Brothers gained fame in 1955 after winning &#8216;The $64,000 Question&#8217; game show as a boxing expert. In 1958 she considered herself the first television psychologist when she had her own show in new York. Brothers had a monthly column in &#8216;Good Housekeeping&#8217; magazine, a syndicated newspaper column that appeared in over 300 papers including the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle among others.</p>
