WACK News Update 01/04/13

18 year old Brianna Cerrillo arrested for allegedly agreeing to have sex with an undercover officer for money. She is charged with prostitution, in addition to unlawful possession of marijuana and alcohol. She was remanded to the Ontario County Jail in lieu of $500 cash $1,000 bond.

Dan Maffei sworn in yesterday as New York’s 24th Congressional District representative. Maffei who represents Wayne, Cayuga and Onondaga counties as well as parts of Oswego County returns to congress. He was in congress from 2008-2010 But,lost to Ann Marie Burkle in his re-election bid in 2010. One of his first pieces of business for Maffei is working on a 60 billion dollar aid package for the victims of Super Storm Sandy.

H & M worldwide Clothes Store that employs just over 30 people locally is closing the stores in Greece Ridge Center and Eastview Mall, apparently unable to reach an agreement with the Malls owners, Wilmorite on a new lease. It is believed the the chain will offer to relocate the local workers.

Seneca County Sheriff’s Deputies say 44-year-old Richard Heichel of Seneca Falls charged with 14 counts of petite larceny and grand larceny. Heichel is the former president of the South Seneca Community Volunteer Ambulance Corp. It is alleged that he used the South Seneca Community Volunteer Ambulance Corp debit card to make many purchases for himself. Heischel also accused of stealing money raised during a community fundraiser. His next court date is scheduled for January 15th.

Over 300 cases of the flu in Ontario County and over 900 cases in Monroe County in the two month period between mid October & Mid December.

An Ovid man faces charges for allegedly stealing over 10 thousand dollars in property. Darcy Allen was arraigned in the town of
Arcadia and will reappear in court to answer the charges at a later date.

Wayne county sheriffs say a Galen man and his sister had an altercation. Now 22 year old Joshua Younge of Tyre rd is facing Assault 3 and other charges. Younge will again reappear in Galen town court.

a stop in Geneva on State road lands a woman in jail. Police say Elizabeth Brown ran a red light. then police say her driver’s license was suspended. Brown now faces aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the 3rd degree and passing a red light. She was arraigned in Geneva town court and committed to the Ontario County jail. Brown also had an arrest outstanding warrant for writing a bad check in Canandaigua.

A part of the expressway in the Dansville area closed earlier today, This after a tractor trailer accident between exits 5 & 6 shut down. Authorities that stretch of highway now re-open.

Next time you head out to Frontier Field it will be under new management. 17 year contract between the County and Lebeau inc was not renewed. The red wings and Monroe county will now jointly manage the home of the Rochester Red Wings.
