WACK News Update 01/22/13

The national weather service out of Buffalo has issued a lake effect snow warning for Monroe, Wayne and Northern Cayuga counties including the cities of Rochester, Newark and Fair Haven Starting at 10AM Tuesday. Possible Accumulations of 6 to 10 Inches tonight and another 1 to 3 inches possible Wednesday.

A suspect still on the loose in connection with a shooting in Honeoye Falls on Ontario st last night. Monroe County Sheriff’had blocked off several streets around the shooting for a short while during their investigation.

The search continues in Webster for a missing elderly man. Police says 80 year old Marco Montante walked away from his residence yesterday morning. Authorities say he suffers from Alzheimer’s disease and has walked away before. If you have any information you are asked to call 9-1-1.

A Rochester woman learns her fate today in connection with the death of her 4 children in a fatal house fire. Bobbie Kugler admitted to setting that fire last February. She could get up to 15 year in prison at sentencing today.

Ontario County Sheriff’s have arrested a Geneva couple for petit larceny. Kelsey Erin Hemminger and Malcom-Jamal Parmer are accused of stealing merchandise from Walmart. Both released with appearance tickets and will answer those charges in Geneva Town Court at a later time.

Two Victor teens facing charges after a traffic stop in Victor. Police say Brett Stephen Nassello was speeding on Maple Avenue in the village. Police also say that his date of birth on his license had been altered. The passenger Aaron J LeFebvre was not wearing his seat belt and both men discovered to be in possession of marijuana. they both will appear in Victor Town court at a alter time.

132 billion…that’s the amount of money that Governor Andrew Coumo is expected to propose when he unveils the New New York State budget for April 2013 to 2014. Details outlined when Coumo make his address this afternoon.

WACK News Update 01/21/13

Today is the observance of Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday so you find city and county offices, town halls, Libraries, Banks & post offices all closed and of course the kids are out of school.

A Palmyra man charged with felony DWI & driving without a license. Ontario County sheriff’s arrested John Christopher Williams on route 96 in Victor.Williams was arraigned in Manchester town Court and committed to the Ontario County jail without bail.

A Canandaigua man also facing DWI charges. Michael David Woodworth arrested after Police say he was speeding on Routes 5 & 20 in the town of Seneca. He will be in a Seneca town courtroom to answer the charges at a later date.

A couple of U of R students robbed last night. According to U of R security it happened at the apartments on Kendrick Road near the U of R’s river campus. It’s reported two men wearing ski masks with at least brandishing a gun, stole electronics and more by having the victims put the items in a suitcase. No injuries reported and the police investigation continues.

A 29 year-old Shortsville woman facing charges for unlawful possession of marijuana. Ontario County sheriff’s arrested Christina E. Clark after a traffic stop on maple avenue in the village of Victor. She also faces several other vehicle citations. She will be in Victor Court at a later date.

Some scary moments for passengers of a United Express flight that left the Greater Rochester International airport heading for New Jersey. Flight 4480 had it’s rear tires blow. the plane landed safely and no one was hurt.

Governor Andrew Coumo and the state have launched a new website to help you understand the new gun control law called the New York Safe Act.
